Antidepressants Grow New Brain Cells

Dr. Leonard Holmes, the About Guide to Mental Health Resources, recently reviewed the National Institute of Mental Health’s research findings that strongly suggest that some antidepressants work by growing new neurons (brain cells). Studies had already demonstrated that depression and anxiety could cause loss of neurons. Other studies have shown that antidepressants can trigger neuron growth, termed neurogenesis. Read More
