Dialectic Behavior Therapy

Wednesday September 10, 2003
Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT) shows great results helping people with Borderline Personality Disorder. However, did you know these skills also help people with diagnoses such as bipolar disorder, eating disorders, anxiety, PTSD and substance abuse?

Member JCALLON (Jean) says, "Prior to DBT, I was on a roller-coaster ride which I had no control over. Now the reins are in my control. I can still go to my doctor and say I have used all my coping skills, and it is still not working or I can say I managed it myself with medications and coping skills. I have just had my two year anniversary without hospitalizations. My coping skills are responsible for that. I am starting school so that one day I can return to work in a different field. DBT has done all this for me."
