Coping with Disasters: Hurricane Katrina's Aftermath

Anickki, a member of our community, expresses what so many of us are feeling right now. “I am just so devastated over the aftermath of Katrina and the poor, poor people there. I just can't even fathom what they must be going through. Every time I take a drink of water, shower, use power, put on clean clothes, eat food my mind drifts to them. And, what about the people who need medications? Little babies. How are they even getting water and food? It's just beyond belief. I am way up in New England, but I just keep watching CNN and cannot get over it.” So how do we cope? What do we do? Here are some things that may help.
