Bipolar Disorder and Migraine Comorbidity

With any disease or disorder, it’s not uncommon for them to be associated with other comorbid conditions. Comorbid conditions are conditions that occur together, but neither causes the other. Studies have now shown that Migraine disease seems to be comorbid to bipolar disorder.

In two studies, the prevalence of Migraine among patients with bipolar disorder was found to be significantly higher than in the general population.

My first mirgraine occurred during pregnancy at age 29. Never had one before that. Also, never had another after that until bipolar showed up. Now I have them constantly. At least one or 2 a week. I agree with the article. It doesn’t matter what meds I am on, migraines never go away, including Topamax.
