Sugar & Salt: My Life with Bipolar Disorder

Saturday September 30, 2006
Jane Thompson, the author of a recently published book entitled Sugar & Salt: My Life with Bipolar Disorder, was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at the age of 37 – a rather late diagnosis. In this story, she shares her personal struggle coping with an illness of which she wasn’t even aware for years. Jane shares that this “is not a tale of climbing the ladder of success, but of a winding trail that is sometimes upward, but that ultimately leads her to her goal of stability and understanding of an illness she must live with and manage for the rest of her life.” She believes her story is for those “who have traveled this road, especially those who are having difficulty accepting their diagnosis or who have lost faith that they can ultimately reach stability and peace.” Have you read Jane’s book? We would enjoy reading your impressions.
