Omega-3 Fatty Acids and Mood Disorders

In the last few years, there has been a great deal of information supporting the use of Omega-3 fatty acids for treating mood disorders. In the November 2006 edition of the American Journal of Psychiatry, Dr. Annlies Van Strater and Dr. Paul Bouvy address the need for considerably more research. “Although the epidemiological studies are very interesting from a theoretical point of view, the controlled clinical trials are crucial in clinical decision making.” In other words, there is currently little research that can definitively say that Omega-3s are a viable treatment.

I have just been told by my pdoctor that Omega 3 Fatty Acids might help. What foods are they in, besides salmon, tuna, walnuts, flaxseed and eggs?
