Distinguishing Bipolar Disorder and Major Depression

Bipolar disorder is difficult to diagnosis most especially when depression in the predominant episode type, which is quite common for those with type II bipolar disorder. However, a group of researchers in Spain have reported significant findings, which demonstrate that the Hypomania symptom check list (HCL-32) identifies bipolar depression in a simple way and with success above 80 percent. This simple test distinguishes between bipolar disorder and depression.
