Hope for Weight Loss

Friday November 9, 2007
One of the challenges faced by people with mood disorders is weight gain from their medications. I myself gained 80 pounds on psychotropic meds. In addition to being physically dangerous, weight gain is a stumbling block to good mental health, because being overweight is depressing! But some recent studies have shown clinical evidence that certain techniques can and do help people with this problem lose weight. However, there is Hope for Weight Loss. ~ Marcia

Marcia,

Your solution is the only one I have found that has worked. I have lost 42 pounds since April 2007 (now it is mis November). I did this by working out 30minutes 5x week. But the big change was counting my calories. I know my BMR and I know that I need to have a 3000 calorie deficit each week to lose a pound. That’s it and now - 42 pounds are gone and I am still taking Seroquel, etc. - Good Luck everyone!
