Interview with Terri Cheney, Author of Manic
Terri shares, "There's a light shining on this illness. There's more hope, better treatment and more compassion than I've ever seen before. I can't tell you how positive the response to Manic has been. People truly seem interested and concerned. So try telling your own story to someone you think might be sympathetic -- a friend, a support group, or your journal. I think you'll be surprised."

Manic is a very detailed discription of the eractic emotions that a manic depressive personality experiences on a daily basis. I was first hospitalized in 1976 thinking full out that I was Jesus, until I could not break the leather straps! Unlike Terri Cheney I never tried to do myself in, but like her I too have written a book about my abliity to get beyond the coping stages of the disease. Lithium has worked well for me and generally hypomania is the mood I usually run with on a daily basis. She did a good job recalling the overwelling fears that all manic depressive personalities live with until we admit that the fear is all in our minds and we face them dead on. Congrats!!
