Controversial heavy metal megastar Ozzy Osbourne is often listed as a celebrity with bipolar disorder. Certainly a life filled with drug and alcohol abuse, bizarre behavior and suicide attempts could indicate manic depression. But is there any documented evidence?Photo: Getty Images / Sergio Dionisio

If he is that would certainly explain some things wouldn’t it? The fact that he hasn’t come out as it were must mean he wants to remain in the closet about it.
He’s a strange one. He loves himself too much (delusions of grandeur) and he loves to put on a show. The things he does, I just don’t believe anyone would do those things on purpose. He could be bipolar. He might be living in a fantasy world. I think the same thing for Gene Simmons. That guy is very smart but then this character comes out that doesn’t mesh with his regular behavior. He also is very grandiose. Who knows? Best for a qualified doc to check both out. I always thought Britney spears was bipolar all along. Her behaviors showed manic tendencies and living as if nothing in the world means anything or applies to her. She could’nt seem to focus. If she is bipolar or mentally ill with something else, I wish her the best as well as other stars who might be ill. Being in public spotlight while going thru this illness would send me off the deep end.
Why is this our business? Just enjoy the music - and chalk up all the hype to being an eccentric musician. It’s no secret he is on medication, if you watched The Osbournes. As for Britney, who gives a damn - I’m sick to death of it - give the woman some Thorazine and stay out of my news.
Everyone seems to give a damn about Britney and I’m sure that she is sick of it too. I think that she would love to stay out of everyone’s news, and focus on her own recovery.
Does Ozzy drink and use drugs because he suffers from a mood disorder or is his behavior the result of being an alcoholic and addict?
Kind of a chicken or the egg question. It’s one only his doctor and him could answer. I couldn’t begin to make any assumptions of my own.
I watched the show, don’t remember him taking medication. Just curious, what does he take?
