The most common treatment for severe depression is antidepressant therapy. When they work, antidepressant medications can be a godsend and even a lifesaver. But sometimes you have to try several to find the right one, which can take a long time while you're still depressed. Dr. Kira Stein compares TMS to antidepressants and also talks about combining the two treatments.
