Bipolar Disorder Chat Host Littlefeather

Littlefeather Host Bipolar Disorder Chat

I've been coming around http://bipolar.about.com forever ... or from when the chat rooms started in 1999. I hit the link to join in and the only people there were Guides Marcia and Kim. Why were they so nice and helpful? Do they really care? As the site grew and I got to know everyone, I found out how very nice and helpful everyone is, and how very much we do all care.

I would come and go in chat for some years as "Dan1959." I never spoke much but I listened and learned. I asked questions. I stayed on my medications. Really, it's easier to work with bipolar disorder than fight against it! I enjoy my life now.

I am a full blooded Cherokee Indian, born and raised on the reservation, and Tsagali is my first language. I was diagnosed with bipolar 1 disorder, manic, in college, 24 years ago now. My career in criminal justice is one way to give back; I participated in the clean up from the 9-11 devastation. Another way is by speaking up about bipolar disorder. To become LittlefeatherHost is my chance to give back what was so freely given to me by my "bipolar tribe."

So if you find me around the rooms, please feel free to ask me anything about bipolar disorder. Looking forward to chatting with you all!
