Crystal Ball

by Connie Banner

On the edge of reality, what is real
The stars or the moon
They’re seemingly still.

Seek within your own crystal ball;
imagine the creatures
locked within the walls.

Only an illusion of sorts; or so it seems
Inside the translucent crystal ball
They’re surrounding your soul
freeing you to fall

The voices, the creatures, the entities you see
are just a reflection
A source within thee

What can be crystalline, yet turn to pure black,
is only a fear
emotions that lack

With strength and endurance
The demons will drain
testing your sanity, causing you to blame.

Clutch the crystal ball without colour or shape
Bury it deep in the mind
the part that can’t wake.

Or look deep inside to see what is left
Only an image
A reflection of the self

To have the power to destroy the ball
or see its beauty; to live or to fall.

So reach out for the crystalline ball
Finding what is me; or an image
that can never be.

It’s all inside your own crystal ball
or seep into the circumference and fight
for the sanity
that sits on the edge of us ALL!
