The Plight of the Bipolar Couple
by MysticDove2
You haven't any idea, you haven't got a clue...
(from a wife's point of view)
I know we are the same ... but I am different than you.
When you are up, I'm down ... when I'm down, you're up...
And when I want to be alone, it's just my luck...
You have another panic attack and cannot go to work!
so you have to stay at home ... I can't even read a book.
Or I become quite manic, and get up at half past four
and try to clean quietly, till I go out the door
at daybreak, to work with the flowers and the trees,
and you come out to look at me, in the dirt, on my knees.
"Sorry, Honey, I tried to be quiet," I say with a smile.
I'll just leave him alone - He'll be more human after a while.
I buzz in and put on coffee, telling him of all my plans.
He just looks at me and says, "Huh." Just like a man!
Nothing lasts forever, then I crash and burn...
and as it usually goes - it's your turn.
You're up at three-thirty with the kitchen light on...
Oh no, don't tell me ... it's the crack of dawn.
You are buzzing here ... you are buzzing there.
Acting as if you haven't got a care.
I can tell by the look ... by the twinkle in your eye...
You are on a mission ... papers are gonna fly.
Piles and piles of paper ... I have them everywhere.
I have them over here ... I have them over there.
I hate it when you move them, for I know not what you did...
with the one that I needed ... the very one you hid!
And nothing lasts forever ... then you crash and burn.
But one morning we wake up ...and it's both of our turns!
We're buzzing in the kitchen ... we're buzzing in the hall...
be careful running down those stairs, or one of us may fall.
This is where it gets tricky ... this is where we clash.
Honey, I really love you, but you're a pain in the #*#!
You want to do it your way, I want to do it mine.
"No, don't move that over there."
"Well, I won't." ... "Well, fine."
Fortunately...
Nothing lasts forever ... then we crash and burn.
We will always love each other,
That's one lesson we have learned.
