Circle

by Pete Poulin

New as you seem
It's just the same old face
Years go by
But in the same old place

You got your plans and your goals
  You're gonna turn around
You'll find your pot of gold
  And build a new playground

Lost in a scheme
  A long and unlit road
Filled with a dream
  Or just a heavy load?

You got your ways and your means
  To start another way
You'll scrap it all again
  And start another day

Round and around -
  But you always come around
Not an answer to be found
  But a circle going 'round

Traveled through time
  Within the marketplace
Forgave the crime
  And filled an empty space

I got a rhyme and a dime
  Would you listen please?
Undo the verse
  And diagnose this ease.
