Twilight's Descent

by Roselace

I go where Truth is black,
Brilliant facets fleeing,
I cannot look, yet can see
Dark eyes
Piercing me.
This is not my home,
What is this place?
Why am I alone
In black rooms of hate?
Where penetrating Danger
Suffocates
And I find a stranger
In my own face?
Dare I go on?
I must, I shall
This is the challenge
The guards are gone now.

When sudden purity of darkness
Contorts, bends, twists
Into soft light
Becoming radiance
Vanquishing night
Where Truth has no shadows
And no pretense
This Love settles gently
Like twilight's descent.
