Weight Control Tips of the Week
WEEK 7

Program Resources
• Community Support Center
• Weight Control Central
• All Tips of the Week

If you are not familiar with our Weight Control Program for bipolar people, please read the Introduction or visit Weight Control Central.

This week's tips include peanut butter paradise, treadmill tips, buttermilk bonanza and more.

  • Marcia's Diet Tip
Try tea! There are plenty of decaffeinated teas available, and if you use no sugar or sweeten it with Sugar Twin (much better, in my opinion, than Sweet 'n' Low), no calories. I use tea in place of late night snacks - it satisfies the hand-to-mouth urge, gives me a sweet taste, and lasts a long time.

  • Community Brainstorm
Kill a Sour Mouth Without Sugar

Our program member Jerry said he has been using sweets and soft drinks to cover the bad taste Lithobid puts in his mouth, but wanted other suggestions that were diet-friendly. Community members responded with several ideas!

  • Recipe of the Week
    Lowfat Southern Fried Chicken

This buttermilk-based recipe makes my mouth water! Canola oil for frying helps to assure that you're getting healthy fats. EASY!

  • Weight Control Plateaus
We've had a lot of people already saying they aren't seeing any weight loss, so this article is very timely. It's aimed toward walkers, but has great information for anyone who is trying to lose weight by combining diet and exercise. Don't miss this!

  • The 10-Minute Workout
Want to vary your routine a little? Here's a short but demanding workout that will push your fitness up a notch. Try this every now and then for a change from walking or swimming.

  • Weight Tracker Shareware for Macs
This inexpensive ($10) program will help you track your progress and generate graphs. Good for the obsessive among us!
