WEEK 9

Program Resources
• Community Support Center

• All Tips of the Week

If you are not familiar with our Weight Control Program for bipolar people, please read the Introduction or visit Weight Control Central.

This week's tips include two contributions from our Weight Control Program members on Monday and Friday, and in between, exercising in bits, spicy porkchops, and figuring out how many calories you need.

  • Swimming Starter Tip
From our Program member Tatyanazap comes this tip to help people who want to go swimming for slimming, but are out of shape and having trouble with breath and/or stamina. A former competitive swimmer, Tat knows what to do!

  • Marcia's Exercise Tip
This tip works for people with busy schedules or those who are in poor shape starting out. If you can't find a single block of time to exercise, or you haven't the stamina to exercise for 15 minutes at a time or more, break up your workout into bits and spread it through the day. Walk 5 minutes, 3 times a day. Walk up and down the office stairs a few times. Be creative!

  • Recipe of the Week!
    Spicy Pork Chops

From the About Guide to Barbecues and Grilling comes this healthy and hearty recipe for one of the world's great foods - pork chops!

  • And now for something completely different...
    The Sarcasm Diet
If you've been wondering why all the dieting and exercising isn't doing you any good, wonder no longer - Brigid has the answers! You probably haven't been doing just the right thing at the right moment - and all your efforts have gone for naught. Enjoy this clever diet parody from one of our members!
