The antipsychotic medication Serentil - generic Mesoridazine - is no longer available in the United States. It was withdrawn from the market in 2004.

If you are currently taking mesoridazine, you should call your doctor to discuss switching to another treatment. Mesoridazine can cause life-threatening irregular heartbeats. You should only take mesoridazine if your schizophrenia or psychotic features of bipolar disorder have not responded to other medications. If you experience the following symptom, call your doctor immediately: fast, irregular, or pounding heartbeats. Talk to your doctor about the risks of taking mesoridazine.
