Amnesia

Definition:
Amnesia means loss of memory. It may be temporary or permanent, partial or total. Possible causes include shock, brain injury, psychological trauma, brain injury and disease. Drugs that may cause amnesia include Ambien (a sedative), Lipitor (a cholesterol-lowering drug) and benzodiazepines. Dissociative amnesia is one of the Dissociative Disorders.
