Definition:
An analgesic is a pain-relieving medication. The analgesics include the opiates, including opium, codeine and morphine; the non-opiates, including aspirin, acetominophen (e.g., Tylenol), ibuprofen (e.g., Advil) and naproxen (e.g., Aleve); and other medications such as Demerol, Darvon and Tramadol.
