Arrythmia

Definition:
Cardiac arrythmia is any disturbance or irregularity of the heartbeat. Some medications used to treat bipolar disorder may cause arrythmia as a side effect. These include but are not limited to:
  • Seroquel / Quetiapine
  • Remeron / Mirtazapine
  • Inderal / Propranolol
  • Clozaril / Clozapine
  • Luvox / Fluvoxamine
  • Wellbutrin / Zyban / Bupropion
  • Valium / Diazepam
  • Tricyclic antidepressants

If you experience fast, slow or irregular heartbeat after starting any new medication, notify your prescribing physician.
