Definition:
Catecholamines are substances occurring naturally in the body that are derived from the amino acid Tyrosine and act as neurotransmitters or hormones. The most important of the catecholamines are dopamine, epinephrine or adrenaline, and norepinephrine or noradrenaline.
Pronunciation: CAT-ih-COAL-uh-meen
