Definition:
In simple terms, compliance means following one's doctor's orders regarding medication, lifestyle, nutrition, etc. People with bipolar disorder are often not medication-compliant for any number of reasons - unpleasant side effects, cost, and thinking "I'm well, I don't need these any more" are just a few.
