Definition:
The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance, also known as DBSAlliance or DBSA was formerly known as the National Depressive / Manic Depressive Association or NDMDA. The DBSA is a not-for-profit organization established to: educate patients, families, mental health professionals, and the general public concerning the nature and management of depressive and manic-depressive illness as treatable medical diseases; foster self-help for patients and families; eliminate discrimination and stigma; improve access to care; and advocate for research toward the elimination of these illnesses.
