Hyperpyrexia

Definition:
Hyperpyrexia is an abnormally high fever. It can be a dangerous side effect of some psychiatric medications, including Elavil (amitriptyline), Mellaril (thioridazine), Nardil (phenelzine), and Orap (pimozide). Hyperpyrexia can be fatal if not treated promptly.
