Definition:
According to the Medline Plus Medical Encyclopedia, malaise is "a generalized feeling of discomfort, illness, or lack of well-being that can be associated with a disease state. It can be accompanied by a sensation of exhaustion or inadequate energy to accomplish usual activities." Webster's Online Dictionary defines malaise as "Physical discomfort (as mild sickness or depression)." And the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) Glossary says malaise is "a feeling of bodily discomfort and fatigue." In everyday usage, malaise tends to mean feeling vaguely unwell, not having the energy to get up and do anything, or even just being lazy.
