Definition:
Klonopin - generic clonazepam - is a medication in the benzodiazepine family. Klonopin has both anti-anxiety and anticonvulsant properties, and thus can be used both as a tranquilizer and as a mood stabilizer. In addition to bipolar disorder, it may be prescribed for:
  • Epilepsy
  • Panic/anxiety disorders
  • Restless leg syndrome (RLS)
  • Tourette Syndrome
and other conditions.

Clonazepam is sold under the brand name Rivotril in Canada. Unlike other benzodiazepines, Klonopin has little or no interactions with grapefruit juice.
