John McCain
  • Mental Health Care / Mental Health Parity:
McCain does not cover parity in the health issues on his website nor does he specifically address this in his statement on mental health issues provided to NAMI. He discusses mental health issues as a “complement to physical health”.

  • Insurance for the Uninsured:
As per his website, “McCain believes that insurance reforms should increase the variety and affordability of insurance coverage available to American families by fostering competition and innovation.” In example, he believes individuals should be able to access health insurance through any organization they choose. One specific reform noted is a tax credit for insurance costs.

  • Insurance for the Uninsurable:
This is not specifically address, but McCain does emphasize the importance of preventative education to stem the growth of chronic illnesses.
