Lamictal and me

I have taken Lamictal for a little while now. When I had first started to take it I felt really good and well being bipolar I didnt think I had it anymore because I was now feeling good. After getting off of it I went right back down to Manic to the very lows again like I use to. Im back on Lamictal and I think it has done me some wonders!

Brand to Generic for Lamictal

I am recovering from what turns out to have been a 90 days period during which I was taking toxic levels of Lamotrigine. Dr. approved generic after charting that he was not supposed to. Change in what was to be up 25 mg of Lamictal - when translated to the Lamotrigine formula raised my levels almost 75mg. Too much...and too quickly. Symptoms were mistakenly diagnosed as other ailments but turns out that a little detective work and extreme "side effect" led me to discovering what was going on. Use caution when changing and be sure to ask questions besides what side effects you may have...toxic symptoms can look like plain side effects but mount up to MUCH more.

Memory loss

I have noticed my memory is very bad. It was not very good before but now I put something down and immediately don't know where I put it. It is like being on auto pilot. I have thought about talking to my doctor about changing the medication but it is helping with my bipolar.

Scared now!

I have just started on lamotrigine 100mg to go up in dose two weekly.I was told by my doctor the only side effect to look out for apart from the rash was insomnia,a bit confused as people are saying the opposite.I feel slightly more manic than my usual but hoping it will level out!I am A bit scared about hair loss as mine is already very fine,I would flip out if it got bad, sorry to be so vain, but just being honest.

memory problems

I have had trouble with my memory and deductive thought process since being on lamictal. I think of asking my doc to discontinue it but am afraid of the mood problems that will come back. I like being stable but would like to have all of my brain also. Any recommendations?

Lamicatal

I take Lamictal and Abilify. They work well together.

on and off

does anyone feel that lamotrigine's composition is different from Lamictal? I feel very strange since i began Lamotrigine (today is my first day on it) and it is already affecting me differently.

Lamictal enough?

i have a loved one who doesn't seem to be having enough "relief" with this med. i'm wondering if there is another med that can be used along with Lamictal to control the rollercoaster highs and lows? i'm unsure of the strength he's taking, but i'm thinking he needs an adjustment in his dosage. his swings are quite frequent lately, sometimes daily, sometimes every few days. this is new to me and i'm very concerned and would love any info some of you may provide. thank you so very much. i myself deal with daily depression and have tried multiple meds and currently on cymbalta, but doesn't seem to be enough either. thank you again.:)

memory problems

I am on 100mg and memory has been really bad since taking lamictal. I do like the med but it has taken a while for my body to get used to it. Was hypomanic for a while and now seem to be back to normal. Lost lots of hair, but it is growing back. If I stop the lamictal will my memory come back to normal. I have been spacey and not liking it.

lamictal

Been on Lamictal for 35 days, and it's had ZERO effect on my manic episodes. I got a doozy last week and it cost me my job. I'm devastated, and facing a major financial mess to boot. Not the first time, obviously, but I had hoped the lamictal would end the episodes. Also taking Celexa. Nothing changed. No fatigue, no nothing. Lamictal might work for some, but I'm back to square 1. Today, they start me on Lithium in addition to the Lamictal, etc. I pray to god something works, as I'm at the end of my rope with living like this anymore.

lamictal

Lamictal, Prozac, and dexidrine. The best combination for me Lamictal stablizes my mood, prozac keeps me out of depression and dexidrine helps me concentrate and keeps me from being super tired. I do take lamictal at night and the others in the morning.

lamictal is pretty good for me

Lamictal worked REALLY well for me. I'm much more even-keeled and not depressed like before. I had no side effects from taking it, except possibly losing 5 pounds and shedding some hair, but definitely not in clumps or anything serious like that. I'm taking 400 mg, which my new psychiatrist thinks is pushing it. When my previous doctor raised it from 300 to 400 I felt no difference. It's been a few years now, though, so I'm scared to switch back, since people say that medications stop working for people over time. Do you guys think that it's smart for me to go back? I'm paying 400 bucks a month for these already.
