This book is an excellent resource for helping children learn to calm down when over-stimulated or angry. It is a step-by-step guide to circular breathing told in the story of a little boy’s adventure in climbing a high mountain and meeting a bear. The little boy teaches the bear how to use this breathing technique while they rest on a sunny rock at the top of the mountain. The idea that the child is teaching the big bear is a brilliant touch empowering children to be responsible for their own emotions and even being an example to adults. It’s bold, easy to read captions and clarity of content is excellent even for very young readers. This book is an absolute treasure for children.
