Information Found on Omega-3 (Continued)

    from Nan
I did a paper in biology about Dr. Stoll's (et al) original study and found numerous flaws in that study. I hope that he has tighter controls for this new one. In any event, it's important to remember that omega-3 is not a "miracle cure" and that it's best used IN CONJUNCTION WITH YOUR OTHER MEDICATIONS. This has been stressed very clearly in everything I've read on the subject - omega-3 has not been proved effective monotherapy. In fact, nothing has been proved yet. Just that there seems to be strong evidence to support mood stabilization and we all know how hard that is to achieve even with meds. The one best argument so far for using it is that even in large doses omega-3 is non-toxic therefore it can't hurt and may help. But, as always, make sure your pdoc knows what you're taking, how much and how often.

Taste of Omega-3 Capsules

    from Marcie
I am also taking fish oil, but I think I'll try flaxseed oil. My doctor said either one is good, but I seem to taste a fishy taste sometimes.

    from Scooby
The only thing I can add about fish oil is that it might be a good idea to have some sugar-free peppermints on hand; otherwise, your boyfriend may say your breath is like a rainbow trout on a crisp spring morning. :o)
